Lisa Loring, the first ever to portray Wednesday Addams on television dies at age 64. Loring, who brought the character to life in 1964 in “The Addams Family” sitcom played Wesnesday when she was just six (6) years old. The once was just “cartoon” made by Charles Addams now has become a huge part of pop culture, all thanks to the actresses who have played the part especially Lisa Loring. The television series “The Addams Family” had a great two-season run from 1964 to 1966 with a total of 64 episodes. Loring’s untimely death has made headlines and is creating buzz on the internet as her family, friends, and followers as well as fans of Wednesday Addams are all grieving for another loss in entertainment industry.
Lisa Loring’s cause of death
One of Lisa’s closest friends, Laure Jacobson, shares on Facebook regarding the actress’ cause of death. In a Facebook post, Jacobson wrote:
“It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring. 4 Days ago she suffered a massive stroke brought on by smoking and high blood pressure. She had been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday, her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed last night.”
This was also confirmed by Lisa’s agent, Chris Carbaugh, through CNN as he said that Lisa “passed away on Saturday surrounded by her family.” As reported by Variety, she spent he last moments with her family. According to her her daughter, Vanessa Foumberg, their mother “went peacefully with both her daughters holding her hands.” Loring, 64, was declared dead in Providence Saint Joseph medical center in Burbank, California.
Lisa Loring’s public and private life
As early as 3 years old, Lisa was already in the spotlight. She began as a child model and rose her way up as a child actor when he got the role for Wednesday Addams. She definitely delivered a great performance for one of the most iconic characters of our generation and paved the way for future actresses.
For two years, she became an integral part of “The Addams Family” and became the benchmark for future actresses who took the role. 13 years after she starred as the young Wednesday Addams, she reprised her role as Wednesday Addams Sr. in “Halloween with the New Addams Family”.
Loring also had a good acting career. After getting applause as the dark, gritty, and enigmatic Wednesday, Lisa Loring landed more roles in TV shows like The Pruitts of Southampton (1966-1967), As the World Turns (1956-2010), The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.(1966-1967), Fantasy Island (1977-1984), and Barnaby Jones (1973-1980).
Contrary to her life in the showbusiness, Loring had a rollercoaster private life. She got married 4 times and each one of them ended in a divorce. Despite all of that, she was given two beautiful children, Vanessa and Marianne. She retired from acting in 2015 after ending her career with the movie Doctor Spine.
