Updated: 2 months, 2 days, 20 hours, 10 minutes, 20 seconds ago

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Netherlands star Cody Gakpo.

The PSV player, who has scored two goals in Qatar for his national side so far, is worth around £25milliion, but his price could rocket after the tournament.

Meanwhile, Inter Miami are not interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo after the termination of his Manchester United contract, according to reports.

The Portugal international will be looking for a new club after the World Cup as he is the only unattached player at the tournament,

However, it looks unlikely that his next move will be to MLS side Inter Miami as they have distanced themselves from reports.

Elsewhere, the Red Devils reportedly have “hardly any chance” of signing England star Jude Bellingham.

The midfielder has been linked with a host of clubs including  Liverpool, Man City and Real Madrid, who are thought to be leading the race.

Gakpo and Leao on Ten Hag's World Cup radar

Erik ten Hag has reportedly told Manchester United to sign TWO World Cup sensations.

That’s as he looks to replace Cristiano Ronaldo with a new forward this winter.

ESPN claims Ten Hag is eager to land a top attacker in January and two stars have caught his eye.

The first is Holland’s Cody Gakpo, who has been on Ten Hag’s radar since last season with PSV Eindhoven.

The second is Rafael Leao, who has become one of Serie A’s top stars with AC Milan.

However, he is valued at over £100million by Milan and Leao is yet to get a proper run through the middle for either club or country.

It means Gakpo is the more likely of the two to join United in January.

Good Morning Man United Fans

Man Utd have agreed a deal in principle for Cody Gakpo, according to reports. Football Insider claim the Red Devils have been in constant dialogue with his club PSV since having a £25million bid rejected last summer.

Manager Erik ten Hag’s is said to be a huge fan of the Dutch striker.
But United will have to pay a premium if they want to bring Gakpo to Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

Man Utd have handed a trial to 17-year-old Princewill Ehibhatiomhan.
The teenage striker is currently a free agent, after turning down a contract at Reading. Ehibhatiomhan played for United’s U17 side in a 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers in the Premier Cup last week.

He previously trained with Chelsea, where he scored goals in preseason games against Leeds United and Coventry City.

Marcus Rashford has thanked ‘idol’ Cristiano Ronaldo for the experience of training together.

He said: “It has been an unbelievable experience to play with him,”

“He is one of my idols and someone I always looked up to.

“It is something I can keep with me forever, I wish him all the best and we want to thank him for the things he’s done for Manchester United.”

Arsenal, Man Utd and Newcastle are all eyeing up a move Christian Pulisic, according to reports. The Daily Mail claim that the Chelsea winger, who has starred for the USA in the World Cup so far, that the Blues could be willing to cash in on their asset in January.

The reason for their haste is the fact the American has just 18 months left on his current deal. Currently there is no new deal on the table, nor have Chelsea opened discussions.

Neville tips Ronaldo for success

Gary Neville has tipped Cristiano Ronaldo for success, wherever he goes.

He told Sky Sports: "I think Cristiano Ronaldo is going to be looking for a top club on a four-month or five-month contract where he can go in and do a brilliant cameo role at the very elite of European football. That's what I think his priority would be - to stay in the Champions League, to stay at the very top and prove that what happened at Manchester United wasn't right.

"I think he's got four or five great months in him somewhere where he'll go in and score 15 or 20 goals in that period. Everybody in Manchester will say 'why didn't we keep him?' and people in the Premier League will as well.

"But he's got that in him and I would say that would be his priority. I think he'll get to the end of the season and then think about the next two years and what his last football project might look like. Is it in the US? Is it in the Middle East? Is it somewhere else in Europe where he's not played before?

"I hope he does really well wherever he goes. It didn't work out in Manchester in the end, but it was the right thing for the club to do in breaking ties and it was the right thing for Cristiano to do."

Rashford praises training under Southgate

Marcus Rashford reckons England under Gareth Southgate is a million times better than the Roy Hodgson era.

Rashford, who scored in the 6-2 win over Iran, said: “Training’s been good for the lads who haven’t been getting as many minutes. But I feel for this squad it’s never been an issue, especially since Gareth’s been managing.

“Maybe before it was a bit of an issue in terms of quality of training and people’s dedication to training.

I was only there for a short period of time before but the standard of training wasn’t as high as now.

“If you aren’t training well you can’t expect to play well or go into games and win just because you think you are better players.

“But since Gareth’s been manager of England, it’s been good, it’s been intense, it’s been challenging. I feel like everyone, me included, is ready to do their bit when they come on to the pitch and if they get an opportunity.

“We have shown progression in the time I have been here. Back in 2016, if you look at that performance when we got knocked out of the Euros, it is a million miles off where we are now. You cannot really compare the two situations.

“There's obviously been clear change and improvement. We’ve done much better in the major tournaments.”

Ferdinand reveals Becks consortium chat

Rio Ferdinand has said David Beckham will "come with a consortium" if he is to bid to buy Man Utd.

Ferdinand revealed on his FIVE YouTube show: "Becks will come with a consortium. I saw Becks last night at the [England vs USA] game, I went to the England game and we were sat next to each other. He smelt beautiful, looked beautiful. He looked a million dollars, as he normally does. He didn’t look 10 billon dollars’ worth.

"But when you mention someone like Becks’ name, he’s obviously a part-owner of Inter Miami, but he doesn’t come [alone]. It’s not his money. It’s not him in terms of putting his hand in his pocket. He comes with a consortium. He comes with people who do have deep pockets who have the ability to go and execute on a deal like that.

"So that’s the way he’ll be approaching it, and rightly so. I just think it’s going to come down to a number. If you’ve got the number, and you can produce, that’s what it’s going to be about."

Gakpo 'holding out' for Man Utd move

Netherlands star Cody Gakpo is holding out for a move to Manchester United, reports suggest.

According to PSV's former technical director John de Jong, the 23-year-old has big plans for his future and may not be joining any club other than United.

De Jong claims a deal with the Red Devils came close last summer but fell through a week before deadline day.

De Jong told NOS on Sunday: "Cody has been waiting a long time for the transfer to Manchester United and it seemed to be coming.

"A week before the end of the transfer window that fell through. After that he had two options in the Premier League, but you never know how that will turn out.

"He made the choice himself. In the end I did have a discussion with the board, whether or not to sell. I think it is really better for him that he stayed.

"I think it’s very nice how he is developing. He continues the line he started at PSV this season.

"He is very effective and decisive. Also at the World Cup. I really enjoy watching it.

"It is especially great for Cody Gakpo that he is doing so well, but ultimately also for PSV and Dutch football."

Ron the way out

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been offered £1.2million a WEEK to play into his 40s.

That’s if he accepts a shock move to Saudi Arabia following his Manchester United exit.

Ronaldo, 37, finds himself without a club for the first time in his professional career.

The legendary striker had his Red Devils deal axed following last week's bombshell interview with Piers Morgan.

And Ronaldo is now focused on leading Portugal to World Cup glory in Qatar.

But the veteran may not need to leave the Middle East afterwards, having reportedly received a mega-money contract from a club in neighbouring Saudi Arabia.

According to CBS, Al Nassr have offered Ronaldo a staggering three-year deal worth £62m.

That would see Ronnie pocket £1.19m each week - working out to £170,000 a DAY.

It could be a tempting offer for the icon, who turns 38 in February.

And should he accept, it would guarantee Ronaldo continues playing into his 40s.

Red-Faced Devils

Roy Keane and Gary Neville launched a blistering attack on a former Manchester United player yesterday.

That’s by sensationally claiming he “doesn’t have a heart.”

The Red Devils legends were both on punditry duty for ITV during Argentina’s 2-0 World Cup win against Mexico.

And one man who caught their eye - for the WRONG reason - was ex-United flop Angel Di Maria.

The now-Juventus winger had a quiet first half before helping his side to a crucial 2-0 win.

But Keane and Neville did not have kinds words to say about Di Maria during the half-time break.

The duo both blasted him for his lack of effort int the first 45 against Mexico.

And talk quickly turned to Di Maria’s disappointing one-season stay at United in 2014/15.

Neville started the attack, saying: “He’s the biggest disappointment ever to come to Manchester United. He’s no heart.”

This spurred on Keane, who roared: "He'd break your heart, I am not sure he's got one.

“We're getting up going 'go on and do something' and he is just guaranteed to give it away. He is going into bodies, he's not getting his head.

“You say about his career, my goodness, he's had some great moves and gone for a lot of money.

“But watching him out there, take him off, guarantee you'll score in the second half now.

“The decision-making from such a senior player, so poor.”

Still Ron top

Gary Neville reckons Cristiano Ronaldo will play for another one of Europe's elite clubs after being sacked by Manchester United.

The 37-year-old forward had his Old Trafford contract ripped up following his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan.

Ronaldo revealed he felt betrayed by the club and doesn't respect boss Erik ten Hag.

He was largely left on the bench this season before the World Cup break, scoring just three goals in 16 games for United.

But former team-mate Neville, 47, will bang in the goals in a cameo role at a Champions League club until the end of the season.

He told Sky Sports: "I think Cristiano Ronaldo is going to be looking for a top club on a four-month or five-month contract where he can go in and do a brilliant cameo role at the very elite of European football.

"That's what I think his priority would be - to stay in the Champions League, to stay at the very top and prove that what happened at Manchester United wasn't right.

Well I Nev-er

Gary Neville believes that Liverpool may have to wait for a takeover as Manchester United are a "better buy".

Both English football giants have been put up for sale by their respective American owners in recent weeks.

Liverpool have enjoyed far more on-field success in recent years under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp.

While they have also thrived off it, moving into a new training base and upgrading Anfield.

Despite these factors, Neville believes that potential buyers will prioritise bids for the Red Devils - and not just because he's a United fan.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the former full-back said: "I don't want to be disrespectful to Liverpool at all because they're a massive football club.

"When you look at the height of English football when it comes to viewing figures, fans, and commercial revenues - it's Manchester United and Liverpool at the very top.

"Forget the fact that Manchester City at this moment in time create a higher revenue.

"Naturally through traditional means, Manchester United and Liverpool are the two biggest clubs in the country by a mile.

"Manchester United will be more sought after and will fetch a higher price than Liverpool.

"Unless Liverpool have got something sorted, I think they're going to have to wait a little bit because I think the buyers will go to Manchester United first - unless there's a Liverpool fan who is very wealthy somewhere and has an allegiance to Liverpool.

"But I think if you were looking at both, as an asset side by side, you'd choose Manchester United and that's not me being biased as a Manchester United fan.

"Liverpool are in a better position on and off the pitch at the moment, but you cannot deny the scale of Manchester United.

"When you look at commercial revenues, Manchester United as an asset are a better buy.

"I think the owner will think if Manchester United get it right on and off the pitch and Liverpool get it right on and off the pitch, Manchester United will be bigger."

'I'd rather do our talking on the pitch'

Luke Shaw claims Wales’ gloating at England’s shock Euro 2016 exit has fired his side up for Tuesday’s Battle of Britain showdown.

The Manchester United left-back says Gareth Southgate’s squad would never show the same disrespect to the Welsh.

Wales were captured on video celebrating wildly after England embarrassingly lost 2-1 to Iceland in the last 16 in France.

Dragons skipper Gareth Bale led the screaming and shouting after Roy Hodgson’s team flopped and Shaw said: “It wasn’t nice. I want to focus on what we do on the pitch.

“We can say things in interviews and I’d rather do our talking on the pitch.”

Asked if the jubilant scenes in the Wales team hotel filmed by midfielder Jonny Williams will give England extra motivation, Shaw added: “You could say that. But our motivation in itself has to be at its very highest level.

“We are at the World Cup. We have great aims for what we want to achieve.

“We have to have the maximum motivation at every game.

“I don’t think there’s any more motivation than what we have already.”

Good morning, United fans

Police are looking into claims Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood breached bail conditions by paying for designer clothing for his alleged sex victim.

It is claimed the woman had access to his bank account — despite being due to give evidence at the player’s trial.

The clothes were purchased online and sent to her address last week
One of the charges against the footballer, previously accused of flouting bail rules last month is coercive and controlling behaviour.

At his trial in November next year, he will also face charges of attempted rape and assault causing actual bodily harm.

Greenwood, 21, who has also played for England, appeared before a judge on Monday at crown court in Manchester.

Judge Maurice Greene reminded the £75,000-a-week striker that his bail conditions remain in place.

Man Utd target Jonathan David could be available for £43million, according to a report.

Sky Sport Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claims that the Canadian attacker might be on the move in the new year for the right price.

David has scored nine goals this campaign already for French club Lille.

Man Utd are considering making a move for Moussa Diaby, according to reports.

The Red Devils are desperate to add a striker to their squad, after releasing Cristiano Ronaldo following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan.

And they have switched their sights to Bayer Leverkusen forward Diaby, claim Fichajes.

The French winger has eight goals in 22 games.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered a mega deal by Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr worth £186million, according to a report.

The Portugal superstar, 37, was released by Man Utd after slamming the club and its manager in a tell-all interview with Piers Morgan.

According to CBS Sports, the Saudis have prepared a three-year contract for Ronaldo, who is currently on duty at the World Cup.

Ronaldo is considering the offer, but won’t make a decision till he returns from Qatar.

Utd face Duran challenge

West Ham and Everton have jumped into the chase with Man Utd and Liverpool for rising star Jhon Duran .

Both clubs have made contact with the powerful Colombian striker about joining in a deal in January.

Duran, 18, has been an instant hit for Chicago Fire in MLS and is thought to be rated at £10million.

Both Liverpool and Manchester United are keen.

And the Reds watched him play for his country last week.

But the teen is being advised to join a ‘smaller’ side to get games at a high level rather than be lost in a squad at one of the Premier League giants.
