Two people were arrested Thursday morning and charged with a long list of drug and gun charges. One of the two was also charged with fighting with police during his arrest.

Craig Joseph Turner, 53, and Jamie Lynn Ketner, 42, were charged Friday with a lengthy list of crimes stemming from a police raid on a Chippewa Township property. Turner faces 20 different felony and misdemeanor counts, including two in which he is accused of assaulting police officers during his arrest.

Specifically, he is accused of grabbing the back of an officer’s head while struggling with officers. The affidavit to secure his arrest said that Turner continued to resist even after being told he was under arrest.

Turner and Ketner were in the camper when officers showed up to execute a search warrant, according to the affidavit. Turner was ordered out of the camper and refused, which is when the scuffle started.

Once he was secured, officers searched the camper and found seven 3.4-gram baggies of methamphetamine, a baggie with 100.6 grams of methamphetamine, a baggie with 2.1 grams of methamphetamine, a baggie with 4.8 grams of methamphetamine, 24 150mg tablets containing the Schedule 5 narcotic Cipla, a black 20-gauge shotgun, a .22 Ruger, a .22 Keystone rifle and 1.3 grams of cocaine. They also found ammunition for the guns.

Police also searched the main home on the property and found a baggie with 1.6 grams of methamphetamine with Turner’s Michigan ID on top of it and a 9mm pistol containing eight rounds of ammunition.

The drugs were all tested and verified with a TruNarc analyzer.

Witnesses told police that Turner was previously seated in the camper next to the drugs and guns. One witness told police that Turner had given her the 9mm pistol. They also said that Ketner filled a pipe with meth and passed it around. Two of the witnesses reportedly didn’t partake.

Turner was charged Friday with two counts of delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine, which due to a previous conviction could be a 40-year felony; possession of methamphetamine, which due to a previous conviction could be a 20-year felony; possession of less than a gram of cocaine, which due to a previous conviction could be an eight-year felony; four counts of possession of a gun by a felon, a five-year felony; one count of possession of ammunition by a felon, a five-year felony; two counts of assaulting/resisting a police officer, a two-year felony; and one count of maintaining a drug house, a two-year high-court misdemeanor.

Turner was also charged with eight counts of using a gun while committing a felony, which adds two years to the sentence for the underlying crime.

Ketner was charged with one count of delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine, which due to a previous conviction could be a 40-year felony; possession of methamphetamine, which due to a previous conviction could be a 20-year felony; possession of a gun by a felon, a five-year felony; possession of ammunition by a felon, a five-year felony; and three counts of using a gun while committing a felony, which adds two years to the sentence for the underlying crime.

Both face Nov. 17 hearings to determine whether sufficient evidence exists to bind them over for trial in circuit court.
