Happy Valley's final episode on Sunday night saw Faisal Bhatti's downfall finally confirmed after he murdered Joanna Hepworth.
Viewers will recall that earlier in the series, Joanna was brutally killed by pharmacist Faisal after he had been illegally supplying her with diazepam and feared she would tell Catherine Cawood.
During the scenes, Joanna told the pharmacist that she had told her abusive husband, Rob Hepworth (Mark Stanley), about their arrangement as they originally planned to murder the PE teacher to keep him silent.
However, as they started to plan the murder, Joanna soon had cold feet as she admitted that she hadn't actually told Rob about the diazepam, leaving the pharmacist livid.
The two characters then got into an altercation where Faisal repeatedly hit Joanna over the head with a nearby rolling pin and the episode ended with the pharmacist grabbing a syringe to fill it with air to finish her off.
In recent episodes, Joanna's body was found in a suitcase in the garage by her husband Rob who had reported her missing to the police.
And after realising Rob had been abusing Joanna throughout their marriage and finding a blood fingerprint in the kitchen, he was arrested.
It was soon revealed he had been having a 15-month affair with a fellow school teacher - who had said he had previously admitted "life would be so much simpler if Joanna didn't exist".
It looked as though Rob would be framed for Joanna's murder but at the end of the episode it was revealed that Rob had in fact been charged with "indecent images" on his phone after "blackmailing a lad at school to send them to him" - and not with Joanna's murder.
While Catherine then told her police colleague that Alison Garrs' probation officer had been using diazepam and after doing some research, realised they were from pharmacist Faisal.
Catherine added: "Guess what? He lives not one hundred yards up the road from the Hepworth's house..." as her co-worker realised the link between Faisal and Joanna's murder.
Viewers were quick to react to the scenes as one person tweeted: "Loving that #HappyValley is trending but please can we have the biggest trend for #SallyWainwright Who made it all happen and especially for tying up the #Faisal story in one line at the end when he thought he'd got away. Genius. Pure."

A different account put: "Yes!!! Man like Faisal finally caught. Would have loved to see his arrest though. #HappyValley."
Another follower wrote: "Catherine just casually dropping Faisal in it then leaving, my Queen #HappyValley."
While a different viewer added: "Faisal … you thought you’d get away with it #HappyValley!"
This wasn't the only twist as the final ever episode saw Tommy Lee Royce take his own life after a showdown with enemy Catherine, where the evil criminal "forgave her".
