-- Since this rivalry began in the 1970s, never have the two teams brough such gaudy records into the matchp. But unlike that classic, 2017 encounter, won by Law, playoffs are not on the line. This year marks the first time both Law and Foran have reached the postseason. Seedings on the line for their respective divisions. Law can clinch at least one Class M home game with a win. Foran will get a home game and possibly the No. 1 seed in Class SS with a win. Joe Morelli breaks down what it means to the town of Milford to have both teams in the CIAC playoffs.

-- Oxford 27, Derby 14

-- Oxford 27 Derby 0

-- Oxford 20 Derby 0 2nd

-- Oxford 13 Derby 0 #cthsfb Not complete.

-- The Boot' is the prize in this new Valley Thanksgiving matchup for both schools, but especially Derby, whose 109-year run as Shelton's opponent ended last year. Mike Fornabaio has a nice story here on how this rivalry started and the history behind the boot, which goes back to colonial times.

Gilbert/NW/Housy-St. Paul

GNH, which has already clinched the NVL Division II title in its inaugural season in the league, will reach the Class SS playoffs with victory in this new Thanksgiving game. A loss and it's in big trouble unless somebody else loses.

Teams Battle for the Helmet in this 60-game series.

Holy Cross-Wolcott

Holy Cross has clinched at least one home game in the Class S playoffs. With a win and the right points, it will be the second seed.

A win for Crosby would give the program its most wins in season (6) since it went 9-2 in 2008.

-- Southington has won nine straight since Cheshire's last win was 2011. Southington's playoff spot is secure, and it clinches at least one Class LL home game with a win. Cheshire's situation is more dire. They must win or likely get bumped from the Class L playoffs (unless the other L contenders lose).

-- Final: Harding 49, Central 18

-- Halftime: Harding 14, Central 6.

-- It is the 100th meeting between the programs on Thanksgiving. Harding has won the last seven meetings, but Bridgeport Central won the 10 meetings before that. Do yourself a favor and read Chris Elsberry's look back on the first 99 games. A really good read.

Weaver-Hartford Public

After a six-season absence this rivalry is back for the 92nd Turkey Game. Hartford Public has won six straight, with Weaver’s last win coming in 2008. Hartford Public is in good shape for a Class M playoff spot with a win, though it starts the week needing some additional help to clinch it.

-- At 7-2, Rockville is a Class M playoff team and will finish somewhere from second to fifth. At 7-2, Ellington is not a Class SS playoff team and will need, not just a victory here, but at least two of the teams ahead of it to lose. The Knights will know at kickoff if it's a realistic hope.
