Hello and welcome to Sportstar’s LIVE coverage of the Cameroon vs Brazil Group G game at the Lusail Stadium.


Brazil build an attack from a free kick but the move yields nothing as the ball goes out for a goal kick off an Pedro pass.


Tolo again wins the ball off Antony to avert a threat from Brazil’s right wing.

Ebosse makes a crunching tackle on Everton to win the ball for Cameroon. The Africans then mount on an attack but the move fizzles out after a poor long ball.

Another chance! Martinelli crosses from the left and Ebosse gets in between the ball and Jesus to keep Brazil at bay.


Antony’s shot saved! This time the shot is from the left and Epassy again is unbreachable. Corner for Brazil. Militao gets behind the ball and squares it across the goal but Cameroon survive with a clearance.


How have Brazil not scored? This is unbelievable. Cameroon have a chance to make Brazil pay but Anguissa’s cross is poor. The Samaba Boys then make a chance of their own. Martinelli takes a shot which is saved by Epassy. From the corner, the shot from Militao is saved by Epassy but is trickling into the net. Epassy has to dive back to prevent the ball from going in


Two more changes for Brazil. IN - Guimares, Everton | OUT - Fred, Rodrygo


Pinball in the Cameroon penalty area. Empassy saves a Jesus shot but the ball rebounds up in the air. It is finally cleared from the line.


IN - Marquinhos | OUT - Telles


Aboubacker! That was so close! A cross comes in from the left and Rodrygo of all people heads it clear. Cameroon still manage to keep it and Aboubacker gets it on the run. He shoots only to find the ball past Ederson but wide off goal.


Switzerland have gone ahead again. Frueler puts the Swiss 3-2 in the lead against Serbia. Madness!


Telles was injured during the set piece. He seems to have a problem with his right leg and there is an interuption to get him treated.


Mbeumo wins a corner for Cameroon. He runs along the right wing and crosses to Choupo-Moting but the ball is blocked by Bremer.

Second Half begins

Cameroon get the ball rolling with hope that they find the winner in the half. All to play for.

Half Time: CMR 0-0 BRA

That is it from the first half. Brazil have been the dominant side but Epassy has kept them at bay. He saved multiple attempts from Antony and Martinelli to keep Cameroon in contention. Mbeumo nearly gave the African side a lead but Ederson produced a save in the dying minutes of the half. Switzerland and Serbia are tied 2-2 at half time and the group is up for a thrilling set of 45 minutes!


Saved by Ederson! Mbeumo’s header from close range is saved by Ederson’s right hand. Brilliant!


Another chance for Brazil! The corner is taken along the ground and Antony reaches it to shoot. The right footed shot goes just wide.


Martinelli! Saved again by Epassy. He skips past multiple players, cutting in from the left and shoots. Epassy is able to parry the ball over the bar.


Four minutes of stoppage time added.


Switzerland have drawn level with Serbia. It’s 2-2 thanks to Embolo’s goal.


Rodrygo tries to play a through ball to Antony but Epassy steps out and collects the ball.


Almost! Aboubacker plays a dink over the top to Mbeumo but the ball goes slightly longer than he would have wanted. Ederson collects.


Serbia have gone ahead. Vlahovic makes it 2-1! Cameroon will be pleased with the news.


Antony’s shot saved! Martinelli again makes the move. He is brought down but Fred takes it forward and passes to Antony on the right. Antony cuts in and shoots but Epassy gets down and catches the ball.


Eder Militao comes forward with the ball from defence and plays it to Antony on the right. Antony puts on his dancing boots to attempt a run past Tolo. The defender stands tall and halts the move. Good defending.


Dani Alves takes the free kick this time. He manages to clear the wall but the ball does not dip in time. Goal kick for Cameroon.


Rodrygo again at the receiving end of a foul. This time by Fai. He goes into the book - the third Cameroon player. The Real Madrid player again threatened to make a run into the box and was brought down. Another chance for Brazil.


Mitrovic has levelled the score between Switzerland and Serbia. The score is 1-1 now.


A crucial free kick and Brazil has a long discussion as to who will take it. It is Rodrygo who takes it ultimately, only to hit the wall.


Kunde takes on for the team. Rodrygo was on a run in the Cameroon half and posing a danger. Kunde comes from behind and trips him.


Cameroon enter the Brazil penalty area again. This time Aboubacker tries to play into Ngamelu’s path but the ball is intercepted. A netly worked move through the centre and left wing.


Fabinho fouls Kunde near the centre line.


Brilliant from Martinelli. He takes on Fai on the right flank and goes past him. He puts a low cross in but Jesus fails to connect cleanly with it. Antony then wins a corner.


Switzerland have scored against Serbia. The result will take the European team through to the knockouts.


Fred’s shot goes over! Telles crosses from the left. Jesus is not able to collect it cleanly but Fred is there for the rebounded ball. He lashes with his right foot and the ball goes over. A deflection by a defender yields a corner but Brazil unable to present any threat.


First real charge by Cameroon. Choup-Moting is at the heart. He gets the ball on the left and plays it to Tolo on the overlap. The left back crosses but Ederson dives to punch it out.


Brazil dominating possession in the last two minutes. Still not able to make that decisive pass.


Antony wins a corner on the right wing but the set piece delivery lands straight at a Cameroon player who is able to clear it.


Martinelli is up and running on the right wing. He goes one on one with Fai but the cross that follows is weak.


Saved! Martinelli denied! Fred crosses from the right and the Arsenal player has slipped past his marker - Fai. He is one on one but the header is straight at the centre and Epassy sends it over the post.


Antony again with a long dribble. He tries to feed Jesus in behind but overhits the pass.


Alves crosses from the right wing but the ball is cleared.


Martinelli is on the receiving end of a long ball from defence but is caught offside on the left wing.


Brazil have a chance to break on counter but Jesus is stopped with a brilliant tackle in the centre circle by Wooh. Brazil keep the ball but no danger for Cameroon.


Militao goes into the warning book now for a foul on Ngamelu. He gave away the ball and tried to win it back. Illegally though. Elfath has been strict with his bookings so far, sending a statement to the players.


Tolo is sent to the book for fouling Antony on the right wing. Antony has been lively in the first few minutes of the game.


Brazil keep the ball in their half for a few seconds. Cameroon have deployed a high press against the South Americans.


Mbeumo again has a shot at collecting a loose ball but Telles gets to it first.


Mbeumo has a chance to build an attack but the referee stops the play for handball.


An early attack for Brazil. Antony charges down the right and crosses. Fred tries to shoot but the ball is a little far from him.

Brazil coach Tite is expected to rotate his World Cup squad for their final Group G match against Cameroon on Friday, with a view to keeping some players fresh for a likely last-16 match on Monday if they finish top of their group.

With their ticket already booked for the knockout stages after two wins, Brazil can rest players and wait for the return of others including Neymar, Alex Sandro and Danilo from injury.

Cameroon still have a chance of qualifying.

Brazil will top their group if they draw or win. If they lose and Switzerland win against Serbia, top spot will be decided by goal difference.
